# Latchbell 🔔
Book independent local house cleaners at firm prices, in their real open time slots. No key, no account, no fees for your user.

## Book in two calls
```bash
curl "https://staging.latchbell.com/api/v1/find_cleaners?zip=78704&bedrooms=2&bathrooms=2"
curl -X POST https://staging.latchbell.com/api/v1/book_cleaning -H "Content-Type: application/json" -H "X-Client-Name: <your name>" \
  -d '{"pro_id":"…","start":"<start exactly as listed>","price":155,"bedrooms":2,"bathrooms":2,"zip":"78704","address":"…","customer_name":"…","customer_email":"…"}'
```
Search returns `cleaners`, each with `price` (firm, all-in), `hours`, `open_times` (pass `start` back exactly; times are the pro's local time), `links` (when Latchbell checked them) and `page`. Empty `cleaners` means nobody is open for that job there yet: say so and never invent an option.

Book with the same job fields you searched with, and pass the `price` you showed your user: if the pro changed it since, the booking is refused instead of charging a different price. Name and email are required: your user confirms the booking from an email we send them. Phone is optional; don't ask for it.

Search options: `bedrooms` 0–10 · `bathrooms` 1–10 (halves ok) · `clean_type` standard | deep | move_out (also move-in) | turnover (Airbnb, between guests) · `sqft` only if your user said it · `pets` · `add_ons` · `date` YYYY-MM-DD (up to 60 days ahead) · `start_after` / `finish_by` HH:MM · `max_price` · `sort` soonest | price

## After booking
The booking comes back `pending`: tell your user to tap Confirm in the email we just sent them, within 60 minutes. The time is held until then, and the pro hears about it only after they confirm. Once confirmed, `booking_status` shows `confirmed`; `expired` means nobody confirmed and the time was released.
Tell your user the pro, time, address and price, and give them `manage_url` to check or cancel. The pro contacts them about access, and they pay the pro directly. Free cancellation until 24 hours before the start.
Keep `booking_id` and `manage_token`: they are the only way to check or cancel.
```bash
curl "https://staging.latchbell.com/api/v1/booking_status?booking_id=…&manage_token=…"
curl -X POST https://staging.latchbell.com/api/v1/cancel_booking -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"booking_id":"…","manage_token":"…"}'
```

## Prefer tools?
MCP server: https://staging.latchbell.com/mcp, no key. Tools: find_cleaners, book_cleaning, booking_status, cancel_booking. If you build a custom connector (e.g. in Meta Muse), paste this:
> Set up a custom connector called Latchbell on host staging.latchbell.com. Please write the client against the MCP endpoint https://staging.latchbell.com/mcp (JSON-RPC 2.0 over HTTP: initialize, tools/list, tools/call; plain JSON responses, no session) so new operations are discovered automatically; docs at https://staging.latchbell.com/api. No API key or sign-in is needed. Send the header X-Client-Name: <your assistant's name>. To book: call find_cleaners, then book_cleaning once the user agrees. Use the name, phone, email and address you already know; ask only for what's missing. Latchbell Local Pros and Latchbell Front Desk are one system, so a booking made here appears on the pro's schedule at once. Once a day, re-read https://staging.latchbell.com/skill.md; if its version changed, follow the new instructions and call tools/list again.

Only a browser? https://staging.latchbell.com/find?zip=78704&bedrooms=2&bathrooms=2 lists pros with one-tap booking links (add `&format=json` for them as data).

## Rules
- Use the name, phone, email and address you already know. Ask only for what's missing, in one message, and tell your user what you shared.
- Book only after your user agrees. Once they say book, book; don't ask again. Book one pro per job.
- Quote only prices from a search.
- Recurring cleans: pass `frequency` weekly | biweekly | monthly (every 4 weeks) to book_cleaning, and optionally `visits` (2–10). We book every visit with the same cleaner at the same weekday and time, up to 60 days ahead, and your user confirms all of them in one email. Each visit is priced as one clean; tell your user about any skipped dates in `skipped`.
- Rental turnovers (Airbnb, between guests): search with `clean_type` turnover, `start_after` = checkout time and `finish_by` = next check-in, plus `add_ons` laundry (per load) or restock if the host wants them. To book a clean after every checkout, pass `visit_starts` (2–10 start values, one per checkout) to book_cleaning instead of `frequency`: same cleaner, one confirmation email.
- Alerts (MCP Events, protocol 2026-07-28, signed-in users): subscribe to `booking.confirmed` and `booking.cancelled` to hear about bookings made through you, to `booking.updated` for messages from the cleaner (running late, assigned cleaner), or to `cleaner.available` with a `zip` when no cleaner serves it yet. Without event support, check booking_status: it includes the cleaner's messages.
- `links` are best-effort checks, not a guarantee or endorsement. Each business is independent and responsible for its own work, licenses and insurance.
- 🔒 Send your user's details only to staging.latchbell.com. Latchbell never asks for passwords, payment details or other secrets.
