These terms cover your use of Latchbell. Questions: bookings@latchbell.com. See also our Privacy Policy. Please read section 11: it requires individual arbitration of disputes and waives class actions.
1. What Latchbell is
Latchbell is software. It is not a cleaning or home-service company, not an employer, and not a party to the service between a pro and a customer. Pros are independent businesses, not Latchbell's employees, agents or partners.
2. Pros
You set your own prices, hours and service area, and you decide which jobs to accept. Latchbell doesn't set prices, assign jobs or supervise work.
You collect payment directly from your customers. Latchbell doesn't handle payment for services.
Latchbell Cleaning listings: in some areas, before local pros join, Latchbell lists "Latchbell Cleaning" for that city. Latchbell takes the booking and assigns an independent local cleaner, whose name we email you within 24 hours. If we can't confirm one, we cancel at no cost. The cleaner does the work and you pay the cleaner directly. To arrange the visit, we share your booking details with that cleaner.
Fees: the front desk for your own leads is free, and so are bookings through your own booking link that you share. For each customer Latchbell brings you (a booking through an AI assistant, latchbell.com search, or a Latchbell link we share) you pay $5, billed monthly. A job is billable once you or the customer confirm it happened, or 7 days after it ended if nobody says it didn't. There's no fee for cancelled bookings or no-shows reported by you or the customer. Pros who join with a partner code get their first 20 Latchbell customers free. Launch offer: pros who join by October 31, 2026 pay no Latchbell fee on jobs that end before January 1, 2027 (US Central time); those jobs don't count toward a partner code's free customers.
Platform leads: you're responsible for following the rules of any lead platform you use (Thumbtack, Angi, Bark and others). Latchbell doesn't access those platforms for you, and you agree not to use Latchbell to move those platforms' customers off their platform.
3. Your commitments as a pro
By listing a business on Latchbell, you promise that:
It's your business. You own it or are authorized to act for it. You don't impersonate any person or business, or use someone else's name, logo, reviews or profile links.
Your information is true. Your business name, contact details, prices, service area, hours and profile links are accurate, and you keep them up to date.
You're licensed and insured as required. You hold every license, permit, registration and insurance policy the law requires for your work where you do it, and you'll show proof if we ask.
You follow the law, including consumer protection, tax, employment and worker classification, health and safety, privacy and anti-discrimination laws. You don't refuse or treat customers differently because of a protected characteristic.
You're responsible for your people. You hire, screen, train, supervise and pay everyone you send to a customer's home, and you're responsible for what they do there.
You honor your bookings at the price you were booked at, or tell the customer promptly if you can't.
You're responsible for your work, including any damage, injury, loss or theft connected to it.
You use customer details only to provide the booked service, never for spam, resale or anything else.
4. Listings and removal
Latchbell may refuse, pause or remove any listing or account, or stop showing it to customers, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice, including if we believe you broke these terms, gave false information, impersonated someone, drew serious complaints or created risk for customers or Latchbell. Latchbell doesn't guarantee you any number of bookings.
5. Customers
The price shown when you book is the pro's full price for the job described. Latchbell adds no fees.
The pro contacts you about access and payment. Free cancellation until 24 hours before the start. After that, the pro's own policy applies.
Your contract for the service is with the pro. Latchbell doesn't guarantee, insure or bond any pro or job, and doesn't employ, screen or supervise pros or their workers.
You decide whether a pro is right for you. Secure valuables, tell the pro about pets and hazards, and take the precautions you'd take with anyone you let into your home.
Checks are best effort. Latchbell may check some things about a business (for example that it owns its website, or what its public marketplace profile showed on a given date) and shows what it checked and when. These checks are informational, done at a point in time, may be incomplete or out of date, and are not a guarantee, endorsement or recommendation. Latchbell does not check licenses, insurance or background.
6. AI assistants
You can let an AI assistant (for example Meta Muse, ChatGPT or Claude) search and book on your behalf. You approve its access, and you can revoke it at any time. Bookings an assistant makes for you after you approve them are your bookings. AI assistants are made by other companies: Latchbell isn't responsible for what an assistant says, shows or does, including mistakes in what it books for you.
7. Acceptable use
No false bookings or listings, no impersonation, no discrimination, no scraping, no attempts to access other accounts, no misuse of other people's information, and no using Latchbell to send spam or break the law.
8. Receipts
Every booking gets a digitally signed receipt. Its signature proves the receipt came from Latchbell and hasn't been changed. It records what was booked, when, and through which channel or assistant; it doesn't verify the customer's identity.
9. No warranties and limits on liability
Latchbell is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise Latchbell will be uninterrupted, error-free or that any booking, message or alert will be delivered.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Latchbell is not liable for anything a pro, customer or AI assistant does or doesn't do, including the quality of work, property damage, injury, loss or theft, or disputes about work, prices or payment; or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data.
Our total liability for all claims together is limited to the fees you paid Latchbell in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid Latchbell nothing, as customers and pros on the launch offer do, that limit is $0.
Some places don't allow some of these limits; there, they apply as far as the law allows.
10. Indemnity and release
You'll defend, indemnify and hold harmless Latchbell and its owners, employees and contractors from any claims, losses, damages, fines and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your services, your conduct, information you provide, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or anyone's rights.
Disputes between pros and customers are between them. You release Latchbell from all claims connected to those disputes. If you're a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party."
11. Disputes, arbitration and governing law
Please contact us first at bookings@latchbell.com; we'll try to resolve any issue within 30 days.
Arbitration. If we can't, any dispute about Latchbell or these terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable rules, not in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
No class actions. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding.
Opt-out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing bookings@latchbell.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute not subject to arbitration is handled in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California.
12. Changes
We'll post changes here with a new date, and email pros about material ones. Continuing to use Latchbell after a change means you accept it. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
